다가 빠지다

…and then drop out or fall away

-다가 marks a switch from one action into another, and 빠지다 is dropping out, pulling out, or falling away: 들어왔다가 빠졌잖아요 'it came in and then pulled back out', 계속 들어갔다가 빠졌다가 'in and out, in and out'. It works for people leaving a group (했다가 빠지면 사람들이 다 알아차리거든요 'if you join in and then drop out, everyone notices'), for a price falling after a rise (쭉 올랐다가 빠질 때), and for something dropping out of a build-up.
