go off saying something
A quoted statement in "-다고" followed by 가다 "go": went off saying X, or left because of X. Someone got annoyed and left; she goes "I want to go so badly, let's go!"; they go off saying they'll get their own place; everyone went saying they'd be the lead. The speaker is often unimpressed by the stated reason. One line uses -다고 in its other sense, "just because": 돈이 있다고 갈 수 있지도 않아요, it's not as if having money means you can go.
