다고 좋아하다

A thought quoted with -다고 in front of 좋아하다 reports someone delighted by what they believe to be the case: 끝까지 들을 수 있다고 좋아하셨고, 청이 이겼다고 좋아하고. Very often the speaker is flagging that the delight was premature or misplaced — 나는 내가 보는 시간이 더 많다고 좋아했는데..., 다 됐다고 좋아하면서 열었는데, 60%, 50% 먹었다고 좋아하는데. Note that 좋아하다 here means "be pleased about it," not "like something."
