다 이러다

A plain-form sentence followed by 이러다 is the casual way to quote someone: 'and he goes, ...'. These lines quote what somebody said or thought — that was a good meal, I'm Korean, I've got it, I still have plenty of unrealised gains — and then carry straight on with what happened next. The neutral equivalent is -다고 하다; this one belongs to spoken storytelling and often mimics the speaker's tone.
