Go somewhere and come back

Adding 오다 to a completed action means returning afterwards, so 갔다 오다 is 'to go and come back': 내가 다시 갔다 올게 'I'll go back and get it', 화장실만 갔다 올게요 잠깐만요 'I'll just hit the toilet, one sec.' It is the standard way to announce a short absence — softer than saying you are leaving. It also covers a trip already completed: 유럽 여행을 갔다 왔거든요 'she went to Europe and came back.'
