close your eyes and open them

뜨다 is opening your eyes, and paired with closing them it makes the standard image for time vanishing: you blink and you are already in Boryeong, you blink and the carols have started, you blink and it is over. It is what Korean says where English says before you knew it. Two of these lines use the other sense of the same verb, floating or lifting off.
