I think it used to be

A hedged statement about something the speaker personally remembers: soccer used to be more mainstream, it was around 250 pesos, I don't think it was there before, I think I wanted to write a song that gives people strength. The recalling part carries the sense of looking back at a scene you witnessed, and the rest adds the usual Korean cushion of "I think". Compared with plain ㄴ 것 같다, which just judges that something happened, this one says the judgement comes out of memory and may be fuzzy.
