든가 말다

do it or don't

The verb is said twice, once plain and once with 말다 "not do", to say the speaker is indifferent to which one happens. In these lines it usually sits next to a "suit yourself" phrase (마음대로 하세요, 알아서 하시고), or stands alone as a shrug: 그러든가 말든가, "whatever, do what you like." One line stretches it as far as it goes — 인류가 살든가 말든가, "whether humanity lives or not." The near-identical 든지 말든지 is the same construction with an interchangeable ending.
