듯이 하다

do it as if, that way

-듯이 means "as if" or "the way that", comparing how you do something to something else: 대화하듯이 할 수 있게끔 "so it can be done as though we were just chatting", 쫓기듯이 하지 말고 "don't do it like you're being chased", 나를 좀 조롱하듯이 했어 "he did it as if mocking me". One line uses the set idiom 번개불에 콩 구워 먹듯이 — "like roasting beans over a lightning flash" — meaning thrown together at breakneck speed. The shorter -듯 means exactly the same.
