배우다 is learning a skill or a subject. What comes in front names the route or the topic: 에 대해 배우다 is learning about something (dog adoption, cultural preservation), 을 통해 배우다 is learning through a textbook or an experience, and 따라 배우다 is learning by copying the people ahead of you.
