The verb before 보내다 says how something is sent on its way: 돌려보내다 "send it back", 내려보내다 "send it down", 찍어 보내다 "film it and send it". Three lines here use 흘려보내다 — literally "let it flow away" — both for flushing water through something and, figuratively, for letting time or a chance slip past. That second sense comes from 보내다 also meaning to spend or pass time.
