Several of these lines use 남다 in its money sense, coming out ahead on a deal — 미국채를 사도 남는 게 없어요 "there's nothing in it even if you buy US treasuries," 걸려도 남는 장사 "a trade that still pays even if you're caught," 골프장 리조트만 팔아도 남았네?. So read 남다 as either "physically left over" or "still profitable," depending on what is being counted.
