In real speech it appears almost only in its connecting form, gluing a cause to a result: it's so pretty, so...; I heard it was opening, so...; sleeping in it is uncomfortable, so... It does the same job as the standard "because" connector but sounds chatty, unpolished, and slightly regional, which is why it swarms variety-show subtitles. It also links steps in sequence — spin the wheel and then, clip it on like this and then. Speakers shorten it constantly, so it often arrives as one blurred syllable.
