물다 is holding something in the teeth, and 베어 물다 — cutting into it with the teeth and holding it — is the standard phrase for taking a bite. Six of these eight lines use it: 한 입 베어 물면 (if you take one bite), 엄청 많이 베어 물었어요 (you took big bites). 깨물다 is biting down hard instead, which is what the anxious rabbits are doing.
