move forward toward something

Seven of these eight lines are the set phrase 향해 나아가다, "advance toward" — 향하다 supplies the target and 나아가다 the forward motion. It is aspirational: press on toward higher goals, I'm moving toward this dream, believe in yourself and go for your dream. It also works for a direction nobody wants: we're heading toward extinction, moving toward greater authoritarianism. This is speech-making and lyric register, not everyday conversation.
