increase, go up in number

늘다 is something increasing in amount or number, and the -어 you can hear is the past-tense ending fused onto it: 늘었어요, 늘었습니다 "it went up". Five of these six lines report a percentage rise in a figure — 24%가 늘었어요, 전년 동월 대비 48.3%가 늘었습니다 "up 48.3% on the same month last year" — so this is the language of reported statistics and business talk. The same verb also covers a skill improving, as in 실력이 늘다. Its opposite is 줄다.
