race toward a goal

달려가다 is running toward something, and here it is almost always figurative: five of the six lines put 향해서 'toward' or 위해서 'for the sake of' in front of it, so what people are running at is a dream, a Sunday, or a revenue target. It carries effort and single-mindedness, the way English 'chasing' does. Only one line is literal, a spacesuit 매달려서 달려가는, dragged along hanging off the back of a car.
