어서 데려오다

데려오다 is bringing a living being along — a person, a child, an animal. Korean uses it for adopting a pet, which is why 제가... 데려오고 싶어서 데려온 고양이고 reads as warmly as it does; one line stretches the same affection to a painting (이 그림을 보고 싶어서 데려오는데). The -아서/어서 gives the reason or the step first: 곧 찾아서 데려올 게야 "I'll find them and bring them back," 집 앞에 있어서 데려왔어. For objects rather than beings, Korean uses 가져오다 instead.
