-아/어서 gives the cause and 어쩌다 asks what to do about it — usually a sympathetic noise rather than a real question: 아이고, 정말 죄송해서 어쩌나 'oh dear, I'm so sorry, what can I say'. Two set phrases dominate: 어쩔 수 없다 'it can't be helped, there's no choice' — 오빠 위해서 어쩔 수 없어 'for your sake there's nothing I can do' — and 어쩔 줄을 모르다 'not know what to do with oneself'.
