끝내다 is you bringing something to an end, as against 끝나다 where it ends by itself, and the -아서/어서 gives the means: 한 번에 다 공격해서 끝내버려, 다음 문제 맞혀서 끝내버리는 그런, 내가 딱 9번 맞춰서 끝내는 거야. It also covers settling a dispute: 3자 협상을 통해서 끝내자, 이걸로 어떻게 여론을 좀 무마해서 끝내려고 했는데. The -버리다 tacked on in several lines adds a decisive "and be done with it."
