The clause in front gives the reason something is funny, and 웃기다 means being funny rather than laughing. In these lines the reasons are all social: too transparent an excuse, so odd it lands, watching it flop, imagining the scene, hearing them roast each other, hearing it far too clearly. Several are terse captions ending in the noun form, which is how a show labels a funny beat on screen. 웃다 is what you do when something is 웃기다.
