Home / Pattern cry in a particular way
A first verb describes the manner of the crying, and several of these are fixed phrases worth learning: 목놓아 울다 is crying openly at full voice, 숨죽여 울다 is crying with your breath held so nobody hears, 흐느껴 울다 is sobbing. One line contains the proverb about eating mustard while crying, which is how Korean describes doing something you hate because there is no other choice.
