어요 그러다

someone says '~어요' — quoting it

A polite -아요/어요 sentence followed by 그러다 reports it as speech without any 라고: 팥빙수 드세요 그러더라고 is 'the owner said, have the patbingsu'. Be careful with this sample, though — in several lines 그러- is not quoting anything but starting a fresh sentence after an agreement, as in 맞아요 그러면서... and 맞아요 맞아요 그러면 돼요. The quoting reading only holds when 그러다 has no clause of its own following it.
