어요 하다

and then I said '...'

Replays somebody's exact polite words with no quotative particle at all — you just say the line and add 하다, the way English uses 'and he goes, ...'. 봐 봐 나 5분 전에 커피 한 잔이면 돼요 했는데 'look, five minutes ago I said one coffee is enough', 형이 얘기하면은 '그래요 하시죠' 해봐야겠다. Because the quoted line keeps its own 요 ending, you can hear how politely the original was said.
