like the ___ kind of thing

거 is casual 것, and a descriptive modifier says which kind — the everyday way to state a preference without naming a specific item: 매운 거 좋아하시는 분들 'people who like spicy stuff', 저는 좀 얇은 거 좋아해요 'I like the thinner ones', 구운 거 좋아하고 'I like the grilled kind'. 같은 거 'things like ___' softens it into an example: 스카이워크 같은 거 좋아해? 'are you into things like skywalks?'.
