으라고 그러다

tell someone to do it

-(으)라고 carries the order and 그러다 is the spoken stand-in for 'say'. Several lines are hypothetical — if you tell young people to have children, if someone told you to read a thousand-page book — where it means 'if that is asked of someone'. The rest report a real instruction: he told us to take a picture, he told me to eat this. In writing this is -(으)라고 하다.
