게 앞서다

be out in front; get ahead

앞서다, usually as 앞서가다 here, is being ahead — of rivals, of the field, of your own time. 점수 폭이 크게 앞서 나가고 있는 'pulling well ahead on points'; 중국이 저렇게 앞서가는 거는, of a country out in front. It has a second use, getting ahead of yourself: 너무 이렇게 앞서가지 않아도 된다, 'you don't need to run so far ahead of things'.
