받아들이다 is accepting or interpreting something, not physically receiving it. With -게 the adverb says in what spirit: 슬프게 받아들이다 "take it sadly", 자연스럽게 받아들이다 "take it in stride", 깊게 받아들이다 "take it to heart". Two lines here ask 이걸 어떻게 받아들여야 되냐? — "how am I supposed to take this?" — the reaction to news you cannot place. For physically receiving an object, the verb is just 받다.
