게 비다

be empty, sit vacant

An adverb in "-게" plus 비다, "be empty". It describes a space with nothing in it: are the seats around you usually this empty, why is it so empty here, it's hollow inside, a script with blank spaces written in, the road exactly clear. The adverb sets the degree — 휑하게 desolately empty, 더 크게 emptier still. It often appears as 비어 있다 or 비어지다, both simply meaning the emptiness is a standing state rather than something happening.
