붙이다 is sticking one thing onto another: 밴드를 이렇게 붙이고 다녔거든요 "I went around with a plaster stuck on like this", 이거를 왜 코에다 이렇게 붙이는지 "why they stick it on their nose like that". It also covers adding a bit onto a word — 이름 뒤에 디 이렇게 붙이잖아요, tacking a syllable onto the end of a name — and, on a computer, 붙여 넣다 "paste". Its intransitive partner is 붙다, a thing being stuck.
