look after or pack something attentively

챙기다 is making sure of something — packing it, bringing it, or looking out for a person. With -게 the adverb says how attentively: 꼼꼼하게 챙기다 "pack meticulously", 야무지게 챙기다 "handle it capably", 무심하게 챙겨 주다 "quietly see to someone without making a thing of it". Aimed at a person, 챙겨주다 is the everyday word for taking care of them, and 챙겨서 보다 is making a point of watching something. English has no single verb for it.
