A manner adverb in front of 가르치다, to teach or show someone how. The adverbs in these lines cluster at two poles: harshly, tightly and brutally hard on one side, kindly and very simply on the other, with the bare question how do you teach it in between. Do not mix up 가르치다, to teach, with 가리키다, to point at; Korean speakers confuse the two as well.
