게 긁다

긁다 is dragging something across a surface — scraping a pan clean (볶음밥까지 완벽하게 긁어 먹어주고), scratching at something (이렇게 긁어서 덜려고요). In slang it means deliberately provoking someone, poking at a sore spot: 이렇게 긁는다고 긁히는 애, [은은하게 긁]. And 긁어주다 is scratching an itch in the good sense — giving people exactly the answer they were itching for ([궁금증 시원하게 긁어주는 토크], [가려운 속마음 시원하게 긁어줌]). Which one is meant depends entirely on what is being scratched.
