지키다 covers both keeping something — a rule, a promise, a bedtime — and guarding it. Keeping, with -게 saying how strictly: 취침 시간도 엄격하게 지켜? 'are you strict about bedtime too?', 완벽하게 지키지는 못하고 있습니다 'I'm not keeping to it perfectly'. Guarding: 내 회사가 아닌데 어떻게 지키겠습니까? 'how can I protect it when it isn't my company?'. One line has the compound 지켜보다, 'watch over, look on'.
