Home / Pattern roll it up; or "not that"
Two different 말다 verbs share this shape. The main one is rolling or wrapping: 되게 예쁘게 말아야 되는 "you have to roll it up really neatly", 컬을 더 세게 말아요 "they wind the curls tighter", 돌돌돌돌 이렇게 말아줍니다. 밥을 말다 is its own thing — tipping rice into soup, as in 밥도 야무지게 말기. The other lines are the 말고 form meaning "not that": 그렇게 말고 "not like that", 너무 길게 말고 "not too long".
