게 놀라다

놀라다 is being startled or shocked, and -게 measures how much. Nearly every line pairs it with 이렇게 or 그렇게 and turns it into a challenge: 왜 그렇게 놀랐어요? (why were you so shocked?), 그게 이렇게 놀랄 일이에요? (is that something to be shocked about?). The causative 놀라게 하다 flips it to startling someone else, as in 그렇게 놀라게 하면 안돼.
