살펴보다 is examining something with attention, not just glancing at it, and the adverb sets the depth: simply put, in detail, more thoroughly, going over the lyrics carefully. Most of these lines are a presenter announcing what they are about to do, which is where this phrasing lives. Plain 보다 is only looking; 살펴보다 implies going through it and checking.
