Also spelled gobauda

learn by watching someone

보고 배우다 "watch and learn" is what this pattern nearly always turns out to be — five of these lines — as in 어디서 보고 배운 거야? "where did you pick that up?". Aimed at someone else it becomes a jab: 치폴레 보고 배워야겠네 "Chipotle should be taking notes". Other verbs slot in the same way, 듣고 배우다 "learn by listening" and 해보고 배우다 "learn by trying it". The -고 verb is how you learned, not what you learned.
