고 흔들다

hold something and shake or wave it

-고 puts the grip first and 흔들다 supplies the shaking: 들고 흔들다 'hold it up and wave it', 잡고 흔들다 and 쥐고 흔들다 'grab hold and shake'. 쥐고 흔들다 is also a set idiom for having someone completely under your control — 너무 쥐고 흔들어 'he has them totally in his grip'. Note that none of these example lines come with a translation, so we have kept the entry to what the Korean itself shows.
