Names the last thing that happened before something wrapped up: 노래 안 하고 끝났어요 "it ended with me not singing after all", 웃고 끝나다 "end up laughing". Two lines here use 이러고/그러고 끝나는 거야? — "that's it? we're ending on that?" — which is how you register mild disappointment that nothing more came of it. 끝나다 is intransitive: things end by themselves, and 끝내다 is for a person ending them.
