고 마시다

…and then drink it

-고 puts an action before 마시다: 냄새 그만 맡고 마시려는데 'he's about to stop sniffing it and drink', 첫 잔은 무조건 짠 하고 마시고 'the first glass always starts with a clink', 맥주인 줄 모르고 마셨다가 'drank it without realising it was beer'. 먹고 마시다 'eat and drink' is a set pair, and repeating the verb — 마시고 마셔봐도 — means however much you drink.
