pay for it; buy after doing

The step before buying, most often handing money over: 만 원 줬어 만 원 주고 샀어 'I paid ten thousand won for it', 이걸 돈 주고 산다고요? 'people pay money for this?' 돈 주고 사다 is the ordinary way to say something was paid for rather than free or given. Be warned that 사다 'buy' and 살다 'live' collapse into the same 사- in several forms, and two lines here are really 살다: 서로 돕고 사는 거죠 means 'we live helping each other.'
