want to do something

Attaches to a verb and expresses wanting to do it — pick what you like, find a cheaper place, see the actor box. It works for the speaker's own wish and, in a question, for the listener's. When you describe a third person's wish, Korean switches to 어 하다 on the end of it, so "he wants Korean food" takes that longer form instead. Very common in every register, from a shop phrase for trying clothes on to a fan's wish granted on camera.
