-지 그래(요) floats a suggestion without pressing it: 쇼미더머니 한번 나가 보시지 그러세용, "why not give it a shot?" In the past form -지 그랬어요 it becomes a gentle reproach for not having done the obvious thing, and several lines here are exactly that, aimed at someone who stayed quiet: 그럼 말 하지 그러셨어요~, (슈퍼한테) 물어보지 그러셨어요. One line is offered as an example of indirect Chungcheong phrasing: '더 세게 닫지 그러냐?'. Compare a plain -(으)세요 request, which tells you to do it; -지 그래요 leaves the choice with you while hinting you have been slow.
