Also spelled jimancamda

want to, but hold back

"-지만" is "but" and 참다 is to endure or restrain yourself. Seven of these eight lines are -고 싶지만 참다, "I want to but I'm holding back": I wanted more but held back, I've got a joke ready but I'll restrain myself, I'd love to keep talking but I'll stop. It is a stock self-deprecating line on variety shows and streams, often said while doing the very thing the speaker claims to be resisting. The remaining line uses it for real endurance — working through it even though it was hard.

Register: casual, often mock-restrained
