-ㄹ지 leaves a question open — whether, how, which way — and 보다 says to wait and find out: 어떻게 될지 봐야겠지만 'we'll have to see how it goes', 경제가 위로 갈지 아래로 갈지 'whether the economy goes up or down'. It usually comes as 봐야 되다 or 봐야겠다, the standard way a commentator declines to predict. One line is a plain 보자: 용서해주실지 보자, 'let's see if she forgives us'.
