ㄹ 지 모르다

An embedded question "-(으)ㄹ지" (whether it will…) under 모르다 "not know". It is how you say you don't know how something will turn out: I don't know if mine even works, I'm not sure you'll remember McCarthy, no telling how much further it'll grow, I don't know where it's going. Watch the second use: with 몰라도 or 모르지만 it stops being ignorance and becomes a concession — "we might be fine with it, but the people watching aren't." Don't confuse it with 을지 알다, which is about whether someone does know.
