'Know how to' — or 'I knew you would'

This pattern carries two meanings that learners constantly mix up. With a skill it means knowing how: 이거 할 줄 아는 사람 있어? 'does anyone know how to play this?', 건축 좀 볼 줄 알아요? 'do you know how to read architecture?' With a past guess it means you saw it coming, or thought wrongly: 내가 너 그 얘기 할 줄 알았어 'I knew you'd say that', 날카로운 이미지이실 줄 알았는데 'I'd expected a sharper image.' Context and tense tell them apart.
