면 내려가다

go down once something happens

-면 gives the condition and 내려가다 is going down — off a stage, down a level, back to a lower place. These lines are practical: go down when your turn comes, go down once the training ends, go down when the ingredients run out. One line uses the doubled 내려가면 내려갈수록, 'the further down you go, the more so'.
