면 늘다

you improve if you practise

늘다 covers both a quantity going up and a skill getting better, and the conditional gives what brings it on. The skill sense is the encouraging one here: 연습을 하면 늘어요 하다 보면, 아웃풋을 연습하면 늘 수 있는데, 왜냐하면 일단 지르면 는다는 걸 들어서 — just throw yourself in and you will improve. The quantity sense usually comes doubled as -면 -ㄹ수록, the more the more: 물건이 막 늘어가면 늘어갈수록, 그 무게가 점점 늘어나면 늘어갈수록.
